Since liquor is a distilled beverage and is produced by following the process of distillation, hence, the ethanol is constituted with fermented fruit, grain or any vegetable. Some of the drinks are not fermented and do not pass fermentation process like beer, wine and hard cider.
There are two types of liquor; those that are distilled and those that are undistilled. Distilled beverages are considerably stronger and since they have a heavy effect on the drinker, they are known as hard liquor. Another type of beverages is undistilled beverages that are considerably soft and lighter than hard liquor since they do not pass the fermentation process. Liquor whether hard or soft, is an alcoholic and a spirited drink and has the same kind of effect one way or the other.
Many people are of the opinion that drinking liquor helps them boost their confidence and also play an important role in relaxing and have a good taste. They get addicted to liquor very easily. However they also do not consider the fact the although it tastes good, it is bad for health and too much quantity of liquor can damage the organs. It also can play a major part in gaining weight as it is made up of sugar and so is full of calories. Liquor is said to kill depression and that is why men and women shown in movies take huge quantities of liquor when they are depressed and the main reason is the set back in their love lives. Liquor kills depression momentarily but it can not kill it for long time and the addiction is actually worse.
According to a scientific research, in taking moderate quantity of liquor is actually good for health and can help keep a person away from some diseases and fatal health issues like heart attacks, paralysis etc. One of the most beneficial to health beverage is red wine which contains high amount of phenols that works as anti oxidants in our body and normal quantity consumption can help make cardiovascular muscles strong and the chances of acquiring heart related ailments minimum. It is also stated that those who drink moderate quantity of liquor are said to enjoy a long life than those people who do not drink at all and those who drink heavily.
